Install Backtrack 5 in VMware in 10 Minutes
Installing Backtrack in vmware
Things to remeber before starting
- Download Backtrack from here
- I am using vmware workstation if you don’t have workstation then see my previous post on vmware.
Follow these steps

Step 6 :
Type “Startx” to get gui
Step 7 :
This will start installer
Step 7:
Then click forward and follow instruction

Hey after selecting default boot mode,it just showing loading_
it just stucking like tat... :(
please help me
JUST WRITE THE COMMAND startx
no man u didnt understand my prob..
after selecting default boot mode it shows
loading /casper/....blahblah
but it is just stucking showing loading
This virtual machine is configured for 64-bit guest operating systems. However, 64-bit operation is not possible.
This host supports Intel VT-x, but Intel VT-x is disabled.
Intel VT-x might be disabled if it has been disabled in the BIOS/firmware settings or the host has not been power-cycled since changing this setting.
(1) Verify that the BIOS/firmware settings enable Intel VT-x and disable 'trusted execution.'
(2) Power-cycle the host if either of these BIOS/firmware settings have been changed.
(3) Power-cycle the host if you have not done so since installing VMware Workstation.
(4) Update the host's BIOS/firmware to the latest version.
and it is just showing this now..when i retry

FIRSTLY RESET YOUR BIOS TO DEFAULT CREATE A NEW MACHINE.
SECONDLY ASSIGN PROPER HARDWARE & BACKTRACK OS REQUIREMENT CONFIGURATION.
AFTER CREATING NEW MACHINE PUT YOUR CD INTO YOUR CD DRIVE ORYOU CAN CHOOSE ISO IMAGE FILE.
AFTER THAT START THE INITIAL PROCESS OF OS BOOTING.
